Getting to know Calmbirth Educator Peter Jackson

Educators

Calmbirth would like to wish its Founder and only male Calmbirth Educator, Peter Jackson, a very happy Father’s Day this Sunday. We would like to thank him for his passion, work, and dedication he has shown in revolutionising childbirth education in Australia and making a difference in the world and to pregnant couples.

Through his ongoing research and development of the Calmbirth program, lives have been changed and positive birth outcomes have been born and experienced by thousands.

From all of those couples you have empowered, taught and helped them to gain the knowledge and confidence to birth their baby regardless of how their birth unfolded, and from all of us here at Calmbirth we wish you have a special Father’s Day with your own family.

We’ve asked him some simple questions so that we can follow him @ Calmbirth and get to know him….

What I love most about being a Calmbirth Educator would be…Providing pregnant couples with knowledge and skills, enabling them to create their own special birth experience.

My life in five words….An Interesting journey of discovery.

What I love most about where I live…The defined seasons, the climate of the Southern Highlands and the beauty of the surrounding countryside

The three essential things you need to take with you into labour are…Understanding the physiology of birth, and the confidence to work with the process as well as fearlessness

What I do to relax when I’m not working…Reading, watching movies, swimming several times a week and going for drives to many other beautiful places close to Bowral for a nice lunch.

My Most memorable moment as a Calmbirth Educator would have to be…Gosh, there are so many of them…

The following paragraph from an email I received recently from a mother about her birth experience is just a sample of so many birth stories I have received over many years now… receiving and reading their stories allows me to also enter into their joy and give them 100% for the birth that the three of them created based on what Calmbirth teaches. Here is a special snippet of her letter to me which brought warmth to my heart for them.

“As my body took over I remember going into myself and meeting my daughter, seeing her hair and body, we were working together in this process and it was mind-blowing, even now it spins me out that I met her before she was born. The deep meditative state I learnt from your techniques and meditation guides was a powerful tool. Birth was so empowering and mystical I still am impacted by it 4 years later.”

I can’t live without…Music.

Someone I admire is…John Main

The best advice anybody ever gave me about life would be…To live in the moment.
